SVA - (Single Vehicle Approval)

To make a Jap Import road-legal in the UK, we are required to carry out a number of modifications.

The first of these is to fit a rear fog light to the vehicle as Japanese law does not require such an item, unlike in the UK. Secondly, a fuel neck filler restrictor needs to be fitted, to prevent any other than an unleaded petrol hose fitting inside the tank. Finally, the speedometer must be converted from kph to the UK standard, mph. Once the above modifications have been made, the vehicle is then submitted for an S.V.A. (Single Vehicle Approval) test. This is a much stricter version of the M.O.T. and ensures that the vehicle is in perfect working order and is up to the very strict UK standards.

All vehicles younger than 10 years old require an SVA by law. All vehicles over 10 years old don't

need an SVA test, but we will still bring these vehicles up to UK Standard. There's a lot more involvement still, things like all the radiuses on the vehicle have to be a minimum of 5mm. The tyres must have a speed and weight rating, the lights have to be up to UK requirements and the list goes on and on and on..

The Japanese stereo frequency is only able to pick up one radio station in the UK, Radio 2.

So we fit radio expanders to every vehicle as standard making the stereo able to pick up every station available to the area (so you don't have to listen to terry Wogan)
